It's slightly northeast of this outpost's marker on the map. Then, underneath that boss fight building slightly southeast of the mission marker for Excavation Site, you'll find this core in this small garage on the second level.Īt the Redoubt Of Sundering outpost, you should be able to find this core pretty easily as it's just sitting out in the open. It's on a cliff just slightly southwest of the building where you have a boss fight with a Brute named Bassus. This core is found around the area of the mission called Excavation Site. Go down this tunnel, kill the enemies inside, and the core will be at the end. While you're destroying the Ammo Printers, look for the tunnel above that has these X-shaped objects blocking it. Kill the enemies inside and claim your core. You'll eventually reach a grav lift that will take you up into that sealed building. Travel through the underground tunnels while smashing any enemies or turrets down there. Once you're in here you should see a hole in the floor you can drop down. There will likely be an invisible Elite with an Energy Sword inside. Take out all the baddies and enter the building here that does have an open doorway. The building that has the Spartan Core will be closed off with no entrance. Jump off the ledge and you'll be at a compound guarded by Banished troops and auto-turrets. Southeast of FOB Alpha will be a Propaganda Tower near a sheer drop. Deal with any other enemies and take your core. You can and should Grappleshot the Chopper and kick the Brute out of it. Grappleshot your way up and you'll encounter a Brute riding around in a Brute Chopper. Northeast of the marker on the map for the Foundation mission and southwest of Paladin Squad, you'll find this core up in the mountains. Go through this cave and at the end will be a room with your core. Blow this tower up and look around the area for a cave lit up with green light. Moreso, there is a downed pelican near the AA gun mission, containing a UNSC audio log. Spartan Griffin audio log is in a downed Pelican, suggesting how Griffin was leading operations at least. It eventually leads to his capture, which becomes a game mission for Chief to beat. One of the audio logs in question mentions Griffin was doing reconnaissance on the new Drill Site, which the Banished is using to breach the ring’s surface. One of those characters critical to the UNSC resistance is Spartan Griffin. You can see this information unfold after the Weapon tells you about a dead, female Spartan on the Foundation level, who was dead for at least one month.Īt the start of the game, the UNSC audio logs talk about how the Halo Zeta ring was overcome by banished forces, and how the UNSC was trying to survive and fight back. If you’re wondering why characters like Griffin had to take up an off-screen lead, it’s because Chief seems to have been out a month. After some amnesia from the battle, Master Chief figures out what is going on and becomes the main spartan on Zeta. Then, when you actually start a save, you see Master Chief get battered, left floating around for a while. The UNSC got battered on the planet, and it caused the UNSC to lose ground.
